Summary:

Since 1978, the correctional systems in Canada and Quebec have undergone significant change. This has taken place in a constantly changing social context. Interesting advances have been made, but there have also been major setbacks. In the light of his experiences and thoughts on the subject, Mr. Bérard intends to take a critical look at these developments. He considers that there are important ethical issues to consider both for criminologists and for our society.
