Summary:

Open access publishing, i.e. making articles, journals, books or other scientific documents available without a price barrier, is becoming increasingly popular, enabling researchers to disseminate their work more effectively and democratising knowledge. At the same time, funding bodies are increasingly imposing this method of publication as a condition of eligibility for funding, so it is important to understand this issue in order to take advantage of it.

In this webinar, David Patenaude, Criminology Librarian at the Université de Montréal, will present an overview of open access, including current publication methods, the requirements of funding bodies and teaching institutions, the prevalence of open access in criminology journals, and publication support resources. The presentation will be followed by a question and answer session.
