Despite growing public awareness of sexual violence, sexual transgressions in the context of professional relationships remain understudied. However, the available data shows that it is a common phenomenon. The conference presents the results of a study that examined cases of sexual misconduct in Quebec over the last 20 years. It also describes the contexts in which sexual misconduct can occur, the associated risk and protective factors, the recourse available to victims and professionals who witness sexual misconduct, and proposes solutions for effectively managing the limits of the relationship with clients.
