Étienne Blais

Full Professor at the School of Criminology at the Université de Montréal, Étienne Blais also holds the Research Chair on the Prevention of Armed Violence in the Metropolitan Region. The primary objective of this chair is to gain a better understanding of the phenomenon of armed violence in urban areas and to develop innovative and structuring interventions for the prevention of armed violence in order to maintain a safe living environment.

Étienne Blais's research interests include road safety, firearm violence, violence in schools, situational prevention, and the script perspective.

Étienne Blais delivered a lecture in March 2017 on "Script and Discretionary Power: The Case of Police Interventions with Offending Motorists."
