Massimiliano Mulone is an Associate Professor at the School of Criminology at the Université de Montréal. Specializing in police and security issues, his current research focuses on police deviance and its control (including the analysis of systems controlling police deviance), as well as racial profiling and the practice of police stops within law enforcement. He also examines the commercialization of security and the gradual privatization of police action, both nationally and internationally. Industries involving private security, commercialization of police services, and private military companies are among his areas of interest.

Massimiliano Mulone gave a conference in October 2017 on the theme "The Police Officer and the Complaint: Reflections on Police Control Systems"
