Annie-Claude Savard

Associate Professor at the School of Social Work and Criminology at Université Laval, Annie-Claude Savard is also a regular researcher at the Université de Montréal's Institute on Addictions of the CIUSSS Centre-Sud-de-l'Île de Montréal and at the Healthy Lifestyles and Multidisciplinary Research Team (HERMÈS), and directs the Game, Responsibilities, and Society team. Her research focuses on gambling among young adults, the discourses and impacts of prevention and advertising on gambling, individual and collective responsibility in the field, as well as on new forms of online gambling (e.g., Free-to-Play). She is interested in structural elements that shape the digital environment in which individuals who gamble operate (e.g., regulation of supply and associated marketing practices), as well as the stigma faced by individuals experiencing difficulties with their gambling habits.
