Marie Dumollard is an assistant professor in the School of Social Work at the Université de Montréal. Her research focuses on the lives of young people (aged 16-30) involved in the criminal justice system (juvenile justice and adult justice) as they make the transition to adulthood, and on the sociopenal public action that concerns them. Her current work focuses on the social relations of age and the age category in public action, its normative (particularly around employment) and organisational frameworks, the resulting intervention practices and the pathways and follow-up experiences of young people in the justice system as they make the transition to adulthood. She is also involved in research on young people in the youth protection system (YPS) and is interested in the pathways and interventions for young people ‘under dual mandate’ (YPS and criminal). Her work lies at the crossroads of the sociology of youth, the sociology of public action, social work and criminology.
